The most common question I get is… “I’m a first time home buyer, I have no idea what I’m doing…where do I start”?
Simple Answer – It starts with talking to a professional (Me!), someone who can guide you along the process that without the proper help can be difficult. If you’re looking to purchase your first home you’ll need to first find out where you stand financially.
Before you start:
-Find out what your credit score looks like – www.creditkarma.com (easy, free and no credit card required)
– What loans do you currently have? (Cars, School Loans, Signature Loans etc.)
– Have you been saving for the down payment and closing cost? (Down payment typically starts at 3.5% of the purchase price, closing cost are around the same amount – FYI Closing Cost are what the lender/bank charges you for the loan
– What banks do you have a financial history with? (Cars, Signature loans etc) They may be a good start when looking for a home loan…however we strongly encourage talking to a mortgage broker who deal strictly in Home Loans.
After that what’s next?
– Call/Text/Email Us!
– We would love to talk to you and answer any other questions you may have and help you get in touch with the people that can help you purchase your first/second/third home!
